Diskoloop etkinliğimi güzel Bonjuk Koyu’nda (Marmaris) düzenledim, ardından Muğla’da seyahat etmeye başladım ve bir baktım ki 3 aydır buradayım. Daha uzun kalabilmek için de oturum izni başvurumu gönderdim. Her şeyi geride bıraktım, buraya gelmeden önce 6 yıldır Dubai’de yaşıyordum. Üzerinde çalıştığım etkinlik, sanatçı rezervasyonu, marka yaratımı gibi şeyleri bir araya getirmek için başlattım. Türkiye’de olmak yaratıcılığımı uyandırdı. Yerleri, enerjisi, insanları, güzel doğası ve İstanbul’un hareketliliği… Her gün benim için yeni bir macera. Her zaman ilham bulabiliyorum burada. Sanırım burada kalmaya karar vermemin sebebi de bu. Burada olmaktan çok keyif alıyorum ve dediğim gibi sürekli ilham bulabiliyorum. Buranın müzik sahnesinin hâlâ genişlemeye devam ettiğini, potansiyelinin de olduğunu görebilirsiniz. Uluslararası ve yerel sanatçıları bir araya getiren Utopia Festivali gibi birtakım harika yeraltı projelerinde yer aldım. Bunlar ülkeye ve buradaki müzik sahnesine entegrasyonumu hızlandırdı.Pandemi sırasında Türkiye’deydin. Senin bu süreçteki tecrübelerine göre pandemi Türkiye’nin müzik sahnesini nasıl etkiledi? Bunu dünyanın geri kalanıyla kıyaslayabilir misin?Yerel sanatçılara yeniden bir odaklanma gözlemledim. Dünyanın geri kalanında da böyle ama Türkiye'de bu durum daha net. Bence bu iyi ve gerekli bir geçiş oldu. Yerel sahneler ve onların kahramanları; güzel ve otantik bir sahne yaratabilmek için ön sıralarda olmalılar. Öte yandan, tam da bu sebepten dolayı Türkiyeli sanatçılardan müthiş ve yepyeni müzikler dinliyorum. Çıkıştaki DJ’ler ve yapımcılar kendilerini gösterebilmek ve bundan mümkün olduğunca faydalanmak için bir fırsata sahip oldu, harikulade bazı müzikleri de bizimle paylaştılar! Ama pandemi, müzik sahnesi için gece yarısı müzik yasağı gibi negatif şeylere de neden oldu, bakalım bu süreç nasıl dönüşecek.Son olarak bize İstanbul’daki favori dans yerlerini söyleyebilir misin?Suma Han’ı çok seviyorum. Kalabalığı, müziği, havası. Kalbimde ben bir yeraltı particisiyim, o yüzden partilerin daha sert olanlarını seviyorum (gülüyor). Suma Han’da bu sertliği hissedebiliyorum.

I organized my event "Diskoloop" in beautiful Bonjuk Bay (Marmaris) and started traveling in the Mugla region after that - next thing I knew it had been 3 months, and to stay longer I submitted my residency visa application. I left everything behind - I was living in Dubai for 6 years before that. I just started it in order to centralize a little all the things that I am working on - events, artist bookings, branding… Being in Turkey has awakened my creativity. The land, the energy, the people, beautiful nature, and the vibrance of Istanbul… Every day is a new adventure for me. I'm inspired all the time. I think that is why I decided to stay. I'm having a lot of fun and like I’ve said I'm constantly inspired. You can feel that the scene is still growing, but the potential is there, for sure. I have been involved in some cool underground projects like the Utopia festival, which gathered international and local artists, and accelerated my integration into the country and the scene here.You have been in Turkey during the pandemic. According to your experience, how does the pandemic affect the music scene in Turkey? Could you compare it with the rest of the world?&nbsp;I observed a re-focus on the local artists. It has been like this in the rest of the world as well, but in Turkey, it is still very much the case. I think it has been a good and necessary shift. Local scenes and their actors should be on the front stage to - well, create a cool, authentic scene? Also, I have been regularly listening to really nice and fresh sounds from Turkish artists, thanks to that same reason. Up-and-coming DJs and producers have had the opportunity to showcase themselves and make the best out of it, sharing some crazy music! But it has also led to some things less positive for the scene, such as the midnight curfew rule for example. Let’s see how this evolves.Lastly, could you tell us your favorite dance spots in Istanbul? And please tell us why you picked them.&nbsp;I really like Suma Han. The crowd, the music, the vibe. I’m an underground raver at heart, so I like it on the raw side (laughing). Suma Han gives me that feeling.
