• When he declared war on Ukraine , Vladimir Putin said he will see to the "demilitarization and de-Nazification" of the country, to which Ukrainian President Zelenskiy, who is himself Jewish, replied by asking "How can I be a Nazi?" and mentioning his grandfather who fought in the Soviet army against Nazi Germany. Zelenskiy also compared Russia's military campaign to those carried out by Nazi Germany during WWII.
